Junior Environmental Planner at Inland Rail

Inland Rail, a-once-in-a-generation project, is the backbone of a modern network for a modern nation. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future 

With their well-developed project management skills, our Environmental Planners analyse the all aspects of a project and minimise its impact on flora, fauna and cultural heritage sites. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake inductions and training as required within the workplace
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Collaborate with relevant project team to plan project
  • Use project management techniques and tools (Click-up) to ensure efficient execution of projects.
  • Develop specimen analysis techniques (Identifying flora and fauna)
  • Analyse the impact of project on environmental and cultural heritage sites and develop action plans to manage risks
  • Get familiar with legislation around environmental and cultural impact during construction

Desired skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • Year 10-12 high school student
  • Confident in own ability to acquire new knowledge quickly and with limited supervision 
  • Willingness to learn new software to plan projects 
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Good self-organisation and time management skills
  • Good communication skills
