First up, we have Daniel Smith..

‍

Having started as an Apprentice Signal Electrician in 1996, Daniel is now an experienced and resourceful Railway Signal Engineer, Signal Designer, Project Manager and Project Engineer. To be a Signal Engineer you need a sound knowledge in signalling infrastructure and control systems, standards and procedures, experience in signalling maintenance management and asset management, as well as a demonstrated ability to organise and manage staff, a proven ability to identify and implement innovative solutions, strong problem solving skills and a thorough understanding of managing rail safety and our duty of care.

Next, we have Gabriel Lye, Senior Project Manager Signalling and ATMS Designer at Inland Rail

Your third mentor is Georgina Wan, Signalling Engineer at Cross River Rail.

‍

Georgina graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering, specialising in electronics and communication engineering, and has since worked in the design and construction of railway signals.

‍

And last but not least is Ross Jackson, Operations Training Delivery Advisor at ARTC

Ross has a passion for all things railway and passes on this knowledge to future signalling system operators through his position as a Training Advisor.

...and your facilitator, Alisha!

Alisha is an experienced Community Coordinator, with qualifications in Social Science, Community Services and People Performance. Alisha is currently working to support and empower all the students that take part in our virtual work experiences, from weekly video check-ins to fortnightly Q&A sessions with industry experts. Alisha is passionate about building foundational skills and knowledge for the younger generation.
