The basic ABCs for electrical work are:
A - Assume nothing
Never assume a circuit is not live
B - Believe no-one
Do not go off anyone’s word that something is not energised
C - Check everything
Test before you touch: use a voltmeter to check that the equipment you’re working on is not energised
Confirm your testing equipment is functioning correctly before and after proving your isolation
