There’s nothing wrong with escapism in moderation, but you shouldn’t be running away from your problems either. When you’re finished binging TV shows, partying or playing video games, you need something to come back to.

Don’t get discouraged if the journey to becoming more self-aware takes time. 

You need to make time so block off a dedicated portion of your day to your chosen mindfulness strategy. 

There’s a common misconception that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all for forming a habit, and it can take anywhere from three weeks to 35. 

Some are harder to learn, and some people are just more stubborn than others. That’s why it’s more productive to focus on the work you need to do to achieve your goal, than getting too caught up in time-frames.

As an example, let’s dive into journaling as a mindfulness strategy together and consider how we can incorporate it into our lives effectively.
