Grandshake and Junior Engineers partner to Upskill future digital leaders

Brisbane-based SkillsTech startup, Grand Company, and Junior Engineers, today announced a new strategic partnership designed to inspire and equip the digital engineers of the future.ย 

Grand Company COO, Clare Morgans, shared the vision behind the partnership โ€œWeโ€™re excited to be working with the team at Junior Engineers to help young people acquire the skills needed to thrive in the ever evolving digital engineering space. By bringing together the Grandshake skills platform with the high touch instructor experience offered by Junior Engineers, we provide a one-stop shop for industry to support young talent development from school to employment.โ€

New research, โ€˜Ready, Set, Upskill - Effective Training for the Jobs of Tomorrowโ€™ released by RMIT Online, in collaboration with Deloitte Access Economics, revealed that Australia needs 156,000 new technology workers by 2025 to avoid jeopardising $10 billion growth in the technology, media and communications industries.

EdTech Group Director of Partnerships, Andrew Brodie, said โ€œThis partnership makes it possible for students to access, and be rewarded for, participating in programs that increase their future employability and inspire the next generation of digital creators. We look forward to working with Grand Company to increase digital literacy and provide meaningful work experiences to young people across Australia.โ€

The partnership between Grand Company and Junior Engineers scales and streamlines current talent development and youth outreach initiatives. Cost-effectively building a highly-skilled, local talent pool by enabling industry to reach and influence the career decisions of young people across Australia.

Grand Company is a SkillsTech startup based in Brisbane Australia. To help mediate the impacts of Covid-19, they partnered with industry to launch free upskilling and virtual work experiences on the Grandshake platform for young people aged 14-24. In the last 12 months they have registered 95 new school partners, reaching 25,000+ students aged 14-19. Growing an average of 20% month on month, Grandshake is bridging the gap between education and the real-world.

Junior Engineers deliver fun, engaging and educational programs in STEM, coding and robotics for kids aged 7+ both in-person and online. Junior Engineers is part of the EdTech Group of services and solutions aimed at making education, school and after-school life more convenient, connected and enjoyable for schools, parents and students.
